NYHART is committed to complying with HIPAA.

EDI:

In response to the HIPAA requirements for Administrative Simplification, Nyhart has implemented EDI capabilities for processing version 4010 of the ANSI X12 standard transaction sets.

Although there is no official program for HIPAA certification, Nyhart has contracted with Claredi, an independent testing and certification service, to validate the functionality and integrity of our EDI standard transactions for HIPAA compliance in accordance with WEDI/SNIP (The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange/Strategic National Implementation Process) testing and certification levels. Privacy:

The Privacy Rules affect both Nyhart and our employers. Nyhart has implemented a variety of measures to comply with these requirements in our roles of consultant and claims administrator.

To assist employers in their compliance efforts, we have provided a Question and Answer piece and several sample forms. These forms are models. They should be modified as needed to reflect the employer’s and plan’s actual practice, and you may wish to have them reviewed by legal counsel.

Security:

We are currently analyzing and documenting our existing procedures with respect to the Security Rule, and expect to be in full compliance as of April 20, 2005.
